Who's sailing this season
MSC Cruises has the largest presence, with five ships along the Brazilian coast. Costa Cruises returns with Costa Diadema and Costa Serena. And there's a debut: Corazul Cruceros, a new line in the Brazilian market, joins the season with the ship Buenavista.

If you're based in São Paulo, Santos handles most of the season's departures and sits just over an hour from the city, by far the most practical starting point.
What kind of itinerary to choose
Routes range from 2 to 3-night mini-cruises, great if you've never sailed and want to test the experience, to longer itineraries through the Río de la Plata (Argentina and Uruguay) and Brazil's Northeast coast. The right choice depends on how much time you have and whether you're after beaches, cities, or the onboard experience itself.
